½ C. Butter- softened
1 ½ C. Sugar
2 Eggs
2 C. Flour
½ C. Cocoa
2 tsp. Soda
½ tsp. Salt
1 C. Buttermilk
1 C. Hot water
Beat butter, sugar, and eggs. Add all dry ingredients. Add buttermilk and slowly add the hot water. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes. Cool before frosting.
Frosting:
1 cube Butter
2 T. Cocoa
1 box Powdered sugar
Evaporated milk
1 ½ C. Marshmallows
Brown butter and remove from heat and add cocoa, powdered sugar, and evaporated milk to thin. Mix in marshmallows and spread over cake immediately.
